The Issues At Hand

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR TOWN

Meeting

Fiscal Responsibility

PRO-TAXPAYER & PRO-BUSINESS MINDSET

Fiscal responsibility is not complicated but requires a commitment to core beliefs. As a homeowner and taxpayer, I pay taxes just like my friends and neighbors. I hear from our seniors about rising costs.

As the endorsed Conservative and Republican candidate for the Town Board, we must elect council members who will doggedly promote a pro tax-payer and pro-business mindset to develop new revenue, decrease taxes and live within our financial means. New business development can provide a dynamic, stable tax base, providing much needed relief for all residents. Decreasing taxes attracts new businesses and homeowners. Living within our means guarantees a healthy financial reserve to deal with disasters. It is a win-win-win and it is possible.

To create ta Pro-Taxpayer & Pro-Business environment, the Town Fiscal Core Principles must include commitments to:

  1. NOT raise taxes.

  2. Make West Seneca a business destination.

  3. Honor contractual agreements with valued employees.

  4. Live within our means (no more projects that far exceed budgets and revenue).

  5. Listen to the community.

  6. Full transparency.

  7. Multiple year budgeting.

My philosophy is simple and parallels the responsible, disciplined budgets of Supervisor Dickson and Former Supervisor Joan Lillis.

A simple question, "Do you want a proven leader who has lived within contractual agreements, negotiated dozens of contracts, developed 10 consecutive budgets without raising taxes, aggressively pursued grants, and is happy to have all these conversations in public with your input?"  If so, I'm your guy.

PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST

Having lived in West Seneca for over 50 years, I have seen our town grow at an exponential rate as far back as the late 1960's and early 1970's.   We saw new home builds and residential development take root when West Seneca was an historically Republican town.   This growth continued through the leadership period of Joan Lillis.   As our town grew so too did our need for services.

West Seneca has a long tradition of being a leader in:

  • Parks and recreation facilities (a gem of our community) that can easily be found throughout the community.

  • The Town Ice Rink and Centennial Pool are glorious amenities which make many surrounding towns envious.

  • The Senior Citizen Center is filled with robust programming.

  • Youth Sports and recreation flourish.

  • The Burchfield Nature and Arts Center is a destination and a point of pride.

  • Fire, Police, Emergency Services and Medical Providers are only a call away to respond.   These friends and neighbors care deeply about our community and risk their lives for our benefit. The men and women in blue deserve our praise.

These services and  more help make West Seneca a place we can all be proud of.   For these reasons we must elect Town Council members who understand this history and will show up to do the work.   We need Council Members who do more than vote.

We can be proud of what our town offers but we also need leaders who will rise to the task to make certain future generations can enjoy these amenities.   We have work to do to:

  1. Maintain the Ice Rink

  2. Re-Open the pool

  3. Repair the Burchfield building

  4. Re-store recreation services

  5. Preserve Senior Services

  6. Invest resources for public services like, Fire, Police, EMT, Health Care and the Highway department.

This is why I am running and ask you for you to support BobB4WestSeneca.

I am a product of OUR PROUD PAST AND AM OPTIMISTIC ABOUT OUR UNLIMITED FUTURE.

Transparency & Accountability

FOR THE GOOD OF WEST SENECA

Transparency must mean more than holding meetings and casting a vote in public. Transparency must include meaningful community input before the votes are taken. West Seneca residents are smart, savvy, resilient and informed--and have meaningful input to provide.

Voters need to elect like-minded individuals to support the positive progress of Supervisor Dickson, Councilman Piekarec and Highway Superintendent Adams. Their town-centered platform has held the line on taxes, maintained services, and supported employees and taxpayers while engaging the community as equal partners in determining the future of our town.

When elected I will host regularly scheduled forums at multiple times and locations and venues, throughout West Seneca to seek your input on how your money is spent, to gauge the issues that are important to you and represent the voice of our citizens.    We must elect council members who will re-engage with all residents, business owners and community organizations to be the best we can be as a town.
